Kohima Rentals is a broker-free rental marketplace operated from Kohima STPI, Department of Information Technology & Communication, Below Nagaland Civil Secretariat Complex, Thizama Road, Kohima - 797001. This policy explains what we collect when you use our website and Android/iOS apps, and how we use it.
Account details you give us (name, email, mobile number, profile photo, role as owner or tenant); listing details and photos you upload; messages, inquiries, visit requests and bookings; payment records processed by Razorpay (we never store card or UPI credentials); device tokens for push notifications; and, with your permission, your approximate location to show nearby homes.
To run the marketplace: show listings, connect tenants with owners, schedule visits, process online bookings and platform fees, send booking/visit/chat alerts (in-app, push, SMS, email), verify listings against broker activity, prevent fraud, and provide customer support.
Online payments are processed by Razorpay under their privacy policy. Booking amounts are non-refundable and non-cancellable as stated at checkout. We keep transaction references and receipts for accounting and dispute handling.
Owner contact details are shared with tenants only after the tenant unlocks them or a booking is made. We share data with service providers strictly to operate the platform (Razorpay for payments, Twilio for SMS/OTP, Resend for email, Firebase for push notifications, cloud storage for photos). We do not sell personal data.
Location is used only to suggest homes near you and can be denied — you can enter a location manually. Camera and photo access is used only when you choose to add listing or profile photos.
You can edit your profile, change your verified email or mobile, remove photos, delete listings, and turn off push notifications in your device settings. You can delete your account and personal data yourself at any time from Profile → Delete account (in the app or on the website); listings go offline immediately and personal details are erased, while booking/payment records are kept anonymised as required by tax law. You may also email us and we will complete the request within 30 days.
Data is stored on encrypted cloud infrastructure with access limited to authorised staff. Session tokens expire automatically. We retain booking and payment records for 8 years as required by Indian accounting rules; other data is deleted when your account is deleted.
Kohima Rentals is intended for users 18 years and older.
